The Harry Potter HBO series announces the three lead child stars that will play Harry, Hermione and Ron in the new adaptation. Most of the main adult cast had already been announced, however not the three key roles in the series. Understandable given the ages of the actors being looked at. Also, the extensive open casting process, that went on for some time.

‘Newcomers Dominic McLaughlin, Alastair Stout and Arabella Stanton have been cast as Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. They will play the starring roles in a TV epic that will span at least a decade. Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint did the same for the hit blockbuster movies.’

Good luck to them is all I will say. The previous trio will tell you how difficult something like this is for young people of that age. I hope these three experience less of the ugly side of filmmaking than the OG’s did, but what’s the chances?
All three look the part, but of course, the proof will be in the potion, as they say in Hogwarts.
The main cast is now rounded out. However, we do have a few decent roles still to be announced. The Dursley’s for one, who we know should show up at almost the beginning of every season. There’s also some of the teachers that feature less page time, and many of the secondary child actors to be announced. Draco, Neville, etc.
