Suede announce 10th album ‘Antidepressants,’ share “Disintegrate”

Suede have announced a new album, Antidepressants, which will be out September 5 via BMG. It’s their 10th album and fifth since reforming in 2013, and it was produced by Ed Bueller, who worked Suede’s first three albums, as well as 2022’s excellent Autofiction.

“If Autofiction was our punk record, Antidepressants is our post-punk record,” says frontman Brett Anderson. “It’s about the tensions of modern life, the paranoia, the anxiety, the neurosis. We are all striving for connection in a disconnected world. This was the feel I wanted the songs to have. The album is called Antidepressants. This is broken music for broken people.”

The first single is “Disintegrate,” a dark, driving rock song with Suede’s romantic glamour still in full force. You can watch the video for it below.

Suede have also announced a four-night residency at London’s Southbank Centre on September 13, 14, 17 and 19. Anderson says, “Expect old songs, new songs, borrowed songs, blue songs, drama, melody, noise, sweat and a couple of surprises.” One show will be acoustic, and another is a collaboration with Paraorchestra.
