‘Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma’ Starring Gillian Anderson & Hannah Einbinder Wraps Production

Writer-director Jane Schoenbrun (I Saw the TV Glow, We’re All Going to the World’s Fair) has announced the completion of production on their third film, Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma.

Described the film as “Portrait of a Lady on Fire set in a Friday the 13th sequel,” the horror film stars Gillian Anderson (“The X-Files”) and Hannah Einbinder (“Hacks”).

It follows a queer filmmaker hired to direct a new installment of a long-running slasher franchise. The director fixates on the prospect of casting the ‘final girl’ from the original movie, and the two women descend into a frenzy of psychosexual mania.

“I make movies I wish existed when I was a kid,” Schoenbrun said prior to production. “Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma is my best attempt at the ‘sleepover classic:’ an insane yet cozy midnight odyssey that beckons to unsuspecting viewers from the horror section at the local video store.”

The film is expected to be released in 2026 via Mubi, which produced alongside Brad Pitt’s Plan B Entertainment.
