IRELAND. Leading travel retailer ARI marked World Refill Day (16 June) by inviting passengers at Dublin and Cork Airport Duty Free to make conscious choices through a five-day challenge.

Travellers were encouraged to make sustainable swaps in their day-to-day life – from opting for a reusable coffee cup to purchasing a refillable product.

ARI Middle East Head of Planning & Design and ESG Lead Tracy Ross commented, “Not only on World Refill Day, but every day, we at ARI are listening to what our passengers and conscious consumers want and expect from our stores.

“We are working closely with our brand partners to introduce and increase our circular economy capabilities, such as refill solutions, and many of our partners have already made huge strides in this area.

“We fully support this transition and encourage passengers to explore our conscious brand refill range extensions, currently available with Kiehl’s, Lancôme, Kérastase, Mugler, Prada, Armani, Clarins, Marc Jacob, Charlotte Tilbury, MAC, Chanel, Hermès and Max Benjamin.

“As per our L’Oréal partners, did you know that ‘buying a 100ml Prada Paradoxe fragrance refill instead of two new 50ml fragrance bottles saves 74% CO2?’

World Refill Day messaging was featured prominently to raise awareness about sustainable alternatives

“There is a huge opportunity to grow our offering in the circular space, and we are excited to continue offering passengers new ways to shop consciously.”

This April, ARI revealed details of the next stage in its ESG evolution with the launch of a revised 2025-30 strategy under the title ‘Journey with Purpose’. It is characterised by four pillars: People, Planet, Product and Passenger.

Under the recently added Passenger pillar, ARI aims to empower travellers to shop responsibly by offering more sustainable choices. A key part of this is introducing circular retail offerings across its operations, as showcased this week for World Refill Day. ✈
