‘October’ – Jeremy Saulnier Directing Halloween Horror-Thriller for A24

Jeremy Saulnier (Green Room, Rebel Ridge) is back in the A24 business with the upcoming October, described as a Halloween-set “horror action thriller” by Deadline this week.

Cory Michael Smith, who recently played “SNL” alum Chevy Chase in Jason Reitman’s based-on-true-events movie Saturday Night, will star in Jeremy Saulnier’s October.

Deadline details, “No word on the role Smith will be playing in October. Plot details are being kept under wraps, but sources described the project as a fugitive thriller set during Halloween. Saulnier will direct from his own script, with A24 producing and financing.”

Producers for the film include Rich Peete, Eli Bush, and Jeremy Saulnier & Skei Saulnier, with Ronald Bronstein and Josh Safdie, Traci Carlson and Elliott Coley and Macon Blair.

Macon Blair, who previously starred in Saulnier’s films Murder Party, Blue Ruin and Green Room, directed upcoming reboot The Toxic Avenger, only in theaters on August 29, 2025.
