Start 1975 in der kleinen, ruhigen Stadt Yoichi in Hokkaido, Japan, geboren, hat Suzu mit nur 10 Monaten den Ozean Richtung Brasilien überquert, um sich schließlich in São Paulo niederzulassen.
Dort wuchs er auf und lebte er bis er 19 war und sich entschloss, wieder in seine Heimat Japan zurückzukehren.
Seit seiner Kindheit hat Suzu sich zur Kunst hingezogen gefühlt und einen uniquen Stil entwickelt, der von unterschiedlichen Quellen beeinflusst ist: von brasilianischen und amerikanischen Cartoon Comics zu japanischen Animes und Mangas. Trotz seines fortgeschrittenen Alters (das nicht bekannt ist!), steht er immer noch am Anfang seine Illustrations-Karriere. Mitte 2024 begonnen, ist er zurzeit noch kein Vollzeit-Illustrator, aber versucht, einer zu werden und dann vollständig und für immer in die Welt der Kunst einzutreten.
Neben der Illustration ist Suzu ein Naturliebhaber und verbringt seine freie Zeit damit, durch die Wälder und Berge von Hokkaido zu laufen, wo er Inspiration und Ausgeglichenheit findet.
Außerdem liebt er Horrorfilme. Sie haben seine Arbeit insofern beeinflusst, dass er unheimliche und beunruhigende Szenen in humorvolle und manchmal sogar niedliche, verwandelt.
Eines seiner ultimativen Ziele? Der »berühmteste unbekannte Illustrator der Welt und aller Zeiten« zu werden – wenn das überhaupt Sinn ergibt!

Stil Als Autodidakt hat Suzu Grafikdesign und Illustration in Japan studiert. Seine Illustrationen sind geprägt von Einfachheit, von Minimalismus und einem Spiel aus Formen, Proportionen und Charakteren. Sie sind immer mit viel Herz gestaltet und drücken leidenschaftlich und hingebungsvoll Gefühle aus.

Lieblingsmotive Nonsens und Surrealismus. Einfache und minimalistische Linien und ein unterschiedlicher Einsatz von Farbe. Die Charaktere haben ein »signiertes Auge« und verschiedene, auch deformierte, Körperformen.

Technik Adobe Fresco auf dem iPad. Suzus kreativer Prozess ist ziemlich unique: Er verbringt Stunden in der Bibliothek seiner Heimatstadt, notiert Ideen und fertigt in seinem Notizbuch Skizzen an, bevor er seine Konzepte auf Papier bringt. Sein Alltag ist von kuriosen und eigentümlichen Vorstellungen geprägt und er findet sich oft allein und lächelnd auf der Straße wieder – eine leicht exzentrische Note seines Charakters, die Teil seines Charmes ist.

Inspiration Eine seiner größten Inspirationen ist René Magritte und er bewundert auch zutiefst das Werk von Paul Klee und von Kandinsky. Von den zeitgenössischen Künstler:innen sind Suzu Philippe Weisberg, Keiichi Tanaami, Taiga Tateishi, Mizumaru Anzai, Unpis und Peko Asano zu nennen.

Born in 1975 in the quiet town of Yoichi, Hokkaido, Japan, Suzu crossed the ocean to Brazil at just 10 months old, eventually settling in São Paulo.
It was there that he grew up and lived until the age of 19, when he decided to return to his birthplace in Japan.
Since childhood, Suzu has been drawn to art, developing a unique style influenced by a variety of sources: from Brazilian and American cartoon comics to Japanese manga and anime, he has absorbed the cultures he encountered along the way.
Suzu, despite being the age of a veteran (age not revealed), is still new to the illustration career. Starting in the middle of 2024 and not yet a full-time illustrator, he is trying to become one and be able to enter the artistic world once and for all.
Beyond illustration, Suzu is a nature enthusiast, spending his free time running through the forests and mountains of Hokkaido, where he finds inspiration and balance.
He also loves horror films, which influence his art as he transforms eerie, unsettling scenes into humorous and even cute drawings.
One of his ultimate goals?
To become “the most famous unknown illustrator in the world of all time” — if that even makes sense!

Style As a self-taught artist, Suzu studied graphic design and illustration in Japan. After years of searching for a unique style, he proudly dubbed himself “the most unknown illustrator in the world.”
His illustrations are marked by simplicity , minimalism, playing with forms,proportions and shapes and always created with heart, as he expresses his emotions with passion and dedication.

Favourite motifs Nonsense and surrealism. Simple and minimalist linearts and how used the colors differently.mThe characters have a “signed eye” ,original trademark of Suzu’s art style and have a variation and deformation of body forms .

Technique A basic use of ADOBE FRESCO on IPad. Suzu’s creative process is quite unique: he spends hours at the library in his hometown, jotting down ideas and drafting sketches in his notebook before bringing his concepts to life on paper. His everyday life is filled with curious and strange imaginings, and he often finds himself smiling alone in the street — an eccentric touch that’s part of his charm.

Inspiration One of his greatest inspirations is René Magritte, and he also deeply admires the works of Paul Klee and Kandinsky. Among contemporary artists, Suzu finds inspiration in the works of Philippe Weisberg, Keiichi Tanaami, Taiga Tateishi, Mizumaru Anzai, Unpis, and Peko Asano.
