Finnair and the Finnish Airline Pilots’ Association (SLL) have reached a tentative collective agreement following a lengthy and contentious negotiation process.
The new contract, which still requires approval from both parties, is valid for three years, with the final year subject to termination.
You can access Finnair here.
Finnair pilots engaged in work-to-rule action for months and had a couple of strike dates as well, which resulted in more than 1,600 flights cancelled and an excess of 200,000 passengers inconvenienced.
Finnair’s cabin crew union has also reached a new agreement with the airline.
There is still work action due to unfinished contracts with several ground handling employee groups that are set to strike for three days, on June 11, 17, and 19. Finnair expects to cancel most flights on the last two days if a new agreement is not reached.
UPDATE: Next Finnair Strike Dates June 11, 17 & 19, 2025 (Expect Mass Cancellations)
Finnair Cancels Majority Flights June 17 & 19, 2025 + Spillover To Other Dates
Conclusion
Let’s hope that Finnair can resolve the last group that doesn’t have a new agreement in place yet.
This latest round of contract negotiations with various employee unions has been particularly challenging, as previous rounds have been resolved without prolonged disruptions to operations.
