“Jurassic World: Rebirth” First Clip, New TV Spot

Ahead of the film’s opening in a few weeks, Universal Pictures has released both the first clip and a new TV spot for the upcoming “Jurassic World: Rebirth”.

The clip is set entirely at sea and focuses on Scarlett Johansson’s character in her attempts to shoot a special tag/DNA collection dart into a fast-swimming Mosasaurus who threatens to capsize the boat.

The clip offers a decent look at the tension and style that director Gareth Edwards brings to the party with his first “Jurassic” movie.

Set five years after the events of ‘Dominion,’ the planet’s ecology has proven largely inhospitable to dinosaurs. Those remaining exist in isolated equatorial environments. The three most colossal creatures within that tropical biosphere hold the key to a drug that will bring miraculous life-saving benefits to humankind.

Johansson plays skilled covert operations expert contracted to lead a team on a top-secret mission to secure genetic material from those dinosaur. When her operation intersects with a civilian family whose boating expedition was capsized, they all find themselves stranded on an island where they come face-to-face with a sinister, shocking discovery that’s been hidden from the world for decades.

Mahershala Ali, Jonathan Bailey, Rupert Friend, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Luna Blaise, David Iacono and Ed Skrein co-star in the film which opens July 2nd.
