Aena to celebrate commercial excellence with second edition of Enjoy Aena Awards
The 2025 awards comprise seven travel retail prizes that recognise excellence in restaurants, shops, car rental and advertising brands; an external award for best travel influencer, best airport plus an honorary award.

SPAIN. Leading airports group Aena today launched the second edition of its Enjoy Aena Awards programme, which recognises excellence in travel retail and customer experience across its network.
Aena, the world’s leading airport company by passenger numbers, will this month (25-26 June) host the Airport Food & Beverage and Hospitality Conference & Awards in Barcelona, organised by The Moodie Davitt Report.
The company’s 64 airports in Spain and worldwide are home to more than 100 commercial partners. In 2024, Lagardère Travel Retail, SSP, Avolta, Areas, Pansfood and Samsonite received awards across various categories. Adolfo Suárez Madrid Barajas was chosen as the best airport, and the Enjoy Aena Social Aid honorary award went to the Federación Española de Bancos de Alimentos (FESBAL) or Spanish Federation of Food Banks.

The 2025 edition expands the number of categories this year. They comprise seven travel retail awards that recognise excellence in restaurants, shops, car rental and advertising brands; an external award for best travel influencer, three awards for best airports in their categories across the Aena network, and an honorary award.
Aena General Manager Commercial and Real Estate Maria José Cuenda said: “The travel retail sector is in full growth. At Aena, we want to recognise and reward brands that face new challenges of transformation, digitalisation and sustainability to create increasingly groundbreaking and personalised offers at our airports.
“Following the success of the Enjoy Aena Awards in 2024, we have not hesitated to expand these awards even further by including new categories such as best rental car experience or best advertising campaign, among others, which symbolise our firm commitment to our commercial operators and passengers worldwide.”
The Enjoy Aena Awards winners will be decided by an independent jury of individuals from different professional fields. Passenger opinion will also be taken into account when deciding the winner of the Best Airport category.
All retailers operating at Aena airports are eligible for this latest edition of the Enjoy Aena Awards, as are all airports in the network in their respective size category. Aena has opened the website portal www.enjoyaenaawards.com for application submissions.
