Todays Barside Buzz features Ruaridh Mollica set to play Tommy Maximoff In Vision Quest, plus X-Men casting awaits a director deal. Let’s start with more Vision Quest casting and this one once again comes from Daniel RPK on Patreon.

Daniel has so far been proved right on his Vision Quest casting twice. Initially with T’Nia Miller as Jocasta. Now, his Emily Hampshire as EDITH casting rumor has been confirmed by Deadline.

Therefore, I certainly won’t be betting against the other cast Daniel has named. With the next name to add, Ruaridh Mollica as Tommy Maximoff.

One would assume there are connections here between Agatha All Along and Vision Quest. We hard heard that Vision Quest was the third in a trilogy of series that thematically fit around Wanda and Vision and their ‘children’. Beginning of course back with WandaVision itself.

Agatha and Billy were off to find Tommy last we saw them in Agatha All Along. I wonder if one, or both could show up at the end of this series?

Secondly today we have some comments on the X-Men reboot from John Rocha and Jeff Sneider in this week’s The Hot Mic. The pair discussed and theorised on some of the rumors around several Marvel movies. However, for mw the only information they seemed to have inside line on was the situation regarding X-Men.

Sneider says casting is ready to go, but waiting one crucial appointment, the director. Thunderbolts* director Jake Schreier has been in talks. However, according to Sneider a deal isn’t done and casting therefore won’t properly begin until he signs.

Now we have seen a bunch of casting rumors, so are they all BS? Maybe not, as Sneider thinks Marvel are having initial meetings with actors they like for roles. However, no negotiations will begin until Schreier gets to have his say (if he signs a deal). Though, they did talk about some rumors that Hunter Schaefer is being considered for the role of Mystique. Sneider thought it would be cool for a trans actor to play Mystique, but again, it’s too early to say if it will come to anything.

So it sounds like X-Men is just waiting in a director and then casting will begin. What do you think of this rumor, or the Vision Quest casting? Thoughts below.
