Ryan Reynolds Fires Off Hilarious “Diagnosis” for Neil Patrick Harris in DEADPOOL VR Response Video

Ryan Reynolds has officially broken his silence on being replaced as Deadpool in the new Marvel’s Deadpool VR game, and in true Wade Wilson fashion, he did it with maximum sarcasm, a lab coat, and a pitch-perfect jab at Doogie Howser, M.D.Meta’s upcoming VR title for Quest 3 and 3S sees How I Met Your Mother and Doogie Howser star Neil Patrick Harris taking over as the Merc with a Mouth, and Reynolds wasn’t about to let that slide without a fourth-wall-breaking response. In a video posted to his YouTube channel, Reynolds resurrects the classic Doogie end-of-episode monologue format, complete with a painfully retro computer and that famous journal entry setup to air his grievances.Dressed in a lab coat and typing furiously, Reynolds deadpans:“Today, I learned a lesson about buttholes they don’t teach you in medical school. People who steal your signature role are the biggest buttholes of all.”The room Reynolds is typing in is made to look like Doogie’s childhood bedroom. The voiceover continues with a faux coming-of-age revelation that perfectly toes the line between admiration and absolute Deadpool-level pettiness:“No, I don’t blame Meta Quest. Neil Patrick Harris is an amazing actor with the nurturing voice of an angel, but even though I haven’t hit puberty yet, I still know when you’re getting totally screwed.”But the real kicker comes when Robyn Lively crashes the scene yelling “House call!”, a deep cut callback for Doogie Howser fans, as Lively played Michele Faber on the show. She also just happens to be Blake Lively’s sister, making this bit extra awkward when Reynolds calls her his “girlfriend,” then immediately panics about what her dad might say. Lively hits him with the cold truth:“You’re a 48-year-old man.”Cue a hilarious exchange about paychecks, insults, and one of Reynolds’ most Deadpool-y retorts:“I disagree with that diagnosis.”Before the clip wraps, we get a quick cut to the actual Marvel’s Deadpool VR game trailer, then right back to Reynolds, still in Doogie cosplay, leaning in for an awkward kiss before stopping himself: “We can’t. You’re my sister-in-law.” Lively shoots back with a flat, “You’re dumb.”It’s a perfectly chaotic little video that will have you laughing.

Ryan Reynolds Fires Off Hilarious “Diagnosis” for Neil Patrick Harris in DEADPOOL VR Response Video

Ryan Reynolds has officially broken his silence on being replaced as Deadpool in the new Marvel’s Deadpool VR game, and in true Wade Wilson fashion, he did it with maximum sarcasm, a lab coat, and a pitch-perfect jab at Doogie Howser, M.D.

Meta’s upcoming VR title for Quest 3 and 3S sees How I Met Your Mother and Doogie Howser star Neil Patrick Harris taking over as the Merc with a Mouth, and Reynolds wasn’t about to let that slide without a fourth-wall-breaking response.

In a video posted to his YouTube channel, Reynolds resurrects the classic Doogie end-of-episode monologue format, complete with a painfully retro computer and that famous journal entry setup to air his grievances.

Dressed in a lab coat and typing furiously, Reynolds deadpans:

“Today, I learned a lesson about buttholes they don’t teach you in medical school. People who steal your signature role are the biggest buttholes of all.”

The room Reynolds is typing in is made to look like Doogie’s childhood bedroom. The voiceover continues with a faux coming-of-age revelation that perfectly toes the line between admiration and absolute Deadpool-level pettiness:

“No, I don’t blame Meta Quest. Neil Patrick Harris is an amazing actor with the nurturing voice of an angel, but even though I haven’t hit puberty yet, I still know when you’re getting totally screwed.”

But the real kicker comes when Robyn Lively crashes the scene yelling “House call!”, a deep cut callback for Doogie Howser fans, as Lively played Michele Faber on the show. She also just happens to be Blake Lively’s sister, making this bit extra awkward when Reynolds calls her his “girlfriend,” then immediately panics about what her dad might say. Lively hits him with the cold truth:

“You’re a 48-year-old man.”

Cue a hilarious exchange about paychecks, insults, and one of Reynolds’ most Deadpool-y retorts:

“I disagree with that diagnosis.”

Before the clip wraps, we get a quick cut to the actual Marvel’s Deadpool VR game trailer, then right back to Reynolds, still in Doogie cosplay, leaning in for an awkward kiss before stopping himself:

“We can’t. You’re my sister-in-law.” Lively shoots back with a flat, “You’re dumb.”

It’s a perfectly chaotic little video that will have you laughing.
