When “Jurassic World Rebirth” hits cinemas in July, it does so without the involvement of Colin Trevorrow who helmed both the 2015 reboot and 2022’s “Jurassic World Dominion”.
Trevorrow himself is moving on to new frontiers, and now Deadline reports he is at Paramount Pictures where he is directing an untitled conspiracy thriller.
The project is reportedly set in the late 1980s and follows a Las Vegas TV news journalist who broke the story of Area 51 (aka Groom Lake) – the highly classified United States Air Force facility in southern Nevada.
Though primarily a testing facility for experimental aircraft, particularly during the Cold War, the location is infamous amongst conspiracy theorists for and folklore surrounding UFOs.
What’s not clear is what the budget of the project will be, Trevorrow has handled small and large budgets in the past so could go either way. He is also producing alongside Johnny Pariseau, Ryan Reynolds, George Dewey, and Ashley Fox.
Thomas and William Wheeler wrote the still untitled film’s script with the movie reportedly aiming for a 2027 release.
