Spider-Man: Brand New Day Scottish Filming Locations Revealed

We knew Spider-Man: Brand New Day was filming in Glasgow, Scotland and now we know the specific filming locations in the city. Warning documents have been sent to residents to let them know about disruptions. Below are the locations listed as per local residents.

Bothwell Street, from Pitt Street to Hope Street.

St. Vincent Street, from Wellington Street to Buchanan Street.

Waterloo Street, from Douglas Street to Wellington Street (extended to Hope Street outside peak hours).

Oak Street through Richard Street, service tunnel under the Anderston Shopping Centre.

The notification also reveals that instead of July as originally planned, the filming is set to take place this August.

Since I’ll guess most readers won’t have my level of local knowledge… These locations are all pretty much in the centre of the city at the busiest shopping and commercial hubs. Or, at least most of them are. I seem to recall Anderston was the red light district back in my city clubbing days. Though, that was a some time ago, so who knows? I’ll guess that part of the city, and the place above I’m least familiar with, has been cleaned up a bit.

Glasgow has filled in for NYC before, as well as Gotham City. Although, there will be some fans who wish the film was made in NYC itself, I believe that’s super expensive. Busy a city as Glasgow is, it’s nowhere near as busy as Manhattan.

I’m pretty sure the locals will be out with their phones looking for some shots to take. Perhaps we’ll get a few shared online for us to take a look at in August. Right now we know very little about the plot of the film, that could change once filming begins.
