‘Casper’ Haunts SteelBook 4K UHD in August for 30th Anniversary

Casper will celebrate its 30th anniversary with SteelBook and standard 4K UHD + Blu-ray + Digital releases on August 12 via Universal.

Based on the classic Harvey Comics character created by Seymour Reit and Joe Oriolo, the 1995 film is presented in 4K with Dolby Vision HDR and Dolby Atmos audio.

Ghost therapist Dr. James Harvey is hired to exorcise Whipstaff Manor’s apparitions — a friendly but lonely young ghost named Casper and his outrageous uncles Stretch, Stinkie and Fatso — so its greedy owner can get her hands on the house’s fabled treasures. Meanwhile, Casper finds a kindred spirit in Dr. Harvey’s daughter, Kat, but his uncles will not tolerate “fleshies” in their house.

The supernatural fantasy comedy is directed by Brad Silberling (A Series of Unfortunate Events) and written by Sherri Stoner & Deanna Oliver (“Animaniacs”).
