CDFG bolsters downtown retail presence with Summer Carnival shopping campaign in Dalian
Running from 1 June to 31 August, the campaign also celebrates the openings of CDFG’s revamped downtown duty-free stores, starting with the Dalian location.

CHINA. China Duty Free Group (CDFG) has rolled out its Summer Carnival shopping campaign at its Dalian downtown pre-departure duty-free shop, offering a range of discounts and rewards to drive consumer spending.
Running from 1 June to 31 August, the campaign also celebrates revamped downtown duty-free stores openings, starting with the Dalian location on 31 December last year and continuing in Xiamen, Qingdao and Harbin.
These developments align with China’s latest industry policy changes revealed in August last year, aimed at stimulating domestic spending by expanding downtown duty-free retail.
Located on the first floor of Xinxing Xinghai Center, 2km from Xinghai Square in the heart of the city, the store showcases a diverse product range across various categories. These include cosmetics, skincare, perfumes, watches & jewellery, sunglasses, alcohol and food & confectionery.
Brand highlights include Ferragamo, Bally, Coach, Longchamp, Swarovski, Burberry, Ray-Ban, Estée Lauder, Lancôme, L’Occitane, Clarins, Shiseido, The Macallan, Moutai, Wuliangye and Guojiao 1573.
Leveraging the latest policy developments, the store implements CDFG’s retail model that combines tax-paid and duty-free shopping, imported + domestic goods, and offline to online retail, highlighting its role as a destination for both global luxury and trending local brands.
The Summer Carnival campaign offers shoppers discounts of up to -60%, along with surprise rewards and a complimentary gift upon entry.
In addition, purchases over CNY2,000 (US$279) qualify for free beauty gifts.
CDFG members can enjoy exclusive rewards, including up to ten times bonus points, while tax-paid domestic products are available with no purchasing limits.
Under China’s expanded duty-free policies, the Dalian store is open to domestic and international travellers with valid entry-exit documents and confirmed outbound flights or international cruise departures from the city within 60 days.
Currently, shoppers can pre-select duty-free products at downtown stores without quantity or frequency restrictions, with pick-up at the airport’s departure zone before boarding.
Starting 1 July, the Dalian location will also offer tax refund services for international tourists.
