The 2025 Core77 Design Awards Commercial Equipment Winners
The 2025 Professional winner in the Commercial Equipment category was Tim Nugent from Pulse Design Group for CNSRV DC-02. This system defrosts food in less than half the time it normally takes because the water is constantly being circulated all over the food as well as temperature is monitored and maintained throughout the defrosting. Designed to be easily taken apart for cleaning and sanitization. NSF listed.In the Student Commercial Equipment category the winner was AORA – Family-Centered Neonatal Care by Niklas Andreasen, Yash Saboo, and Joel Sjödin from Umeå Institute of Design. AORA is a hub developed to offer a single environment enabling parental presence throughout the entire neonatal intensive care journey. AORA fosters zero-separation care, enhancing the well-being of premature babies and their parents while reducing inequality by ensuring equal access to newborn babies.The jury team for Commercial Equipment was put together and led by Keqing Song a Community Manager at Autodesk. Song was joined by Alex Ortega and Industrial Designer at the Volkswagen Group, Roshan Hakkim a Senior Industrial Designer at Canon Production Printing, Katie Lim a Senior Industrial Designer at frog, and Meghan Preiss the Senior Manager of CX Design Integration at Delta Airlines.The 2025 Commercial Equipment category honors the design and creation of equipment, machinery, and systems used in business operations across various industries. Operational equipment and systems designed for commercial use such as retail, restaurants, and offices and industrial equipment for large-scale manufacturing, heavy production, or infrastructure-related operations.
