Iron Fist Confirmed In “Eyes of Wakanda”

The upcoming Marvel animated series “Eyes of Wakanda” will feature an unfamiliar incarnation of a familiar character – Iron Fist.

The series consists of four half-hour episodes and is described as “anthology adjacent” by director Todd Harris who appeared at the Annecy Animation Festival earlier today and participated in a Q&A.

Harris says the series is “hop-scotching through centuries” but is mostly a spy story that focuses on the retrieval of stolen Wakandan technology.

The first episode is set in 1260 BC and follows a former Dora Milaje (Winnie Harlow) who pursues a man known simply as Lion (Cress Williams) – a pirate leader who stole Wakandan tech to start his own kingdom.

Harris confirms Marvel characters we know will pop up, adding that: “There will be an Iron Fist in here, and not the Iron Fist you expect.”

Finn Jones played the Danny Rand incarnation of the character in the 2017 “Iron Fist” series and is rumored to potentially be doing so again for a cameo in the next season of “Daredevil: Born Again”.

Officially however, Marvel has no plans for the character at present. “Eyes of Wakanda” is set to premiere on Disney+ on August 6th.
