L’Oréal Travel Retail and CDFG open world’s largest Kérastase-branded flagship in Sanya
The store, Kérastase’s first in Asia Pacific travel retail, underlines L’Oréal’s continued investment in the channel and its mission to deliver engaging, tech-driven, shopper-tainment experiences.


HAINAN, CHINA. L’Oréal Travel Retail and China Duty Free Group (CDFG) have partnered to unveil the world’s largest Kérastase flagship boutique in Hainan.
The landmark store – which officially opened on 20 April – is located at the cdf Sanya International Duty Free Shopping Complex in Haitang Bay.
The 130sq m boutique is the first Kérastase flagship in Asia Pacific travel retail and signifies a major step forward in the brand’s stated ambition to redefine luxury haircare in the channel.
Designed to resemble a Parisian suite, the store features vintage-inspired flooring with sleek black and white marble finishes.
The space is zoned to allow travellers to discover the science behind the brand’s formulations, with interactive touchpoints guiding them through haircare routines.
Notably, the store marks the debut of Kérastase’s advanced retail haircare diagnostic K-Scan in travel retail. Developed using tri-polar lights and an AI-powered algorithm, the ten-minute diagnosis delivers a personalised hair and scalp analysis, offering tailored regimens to meet individual needs.
In a first for Kérastase Travel Retail, the boutique features a dedicated spa room offering the Chronologiste Hair Ritual – a 50-minute salon-grade treatment using the Chronologiste range. This premium service is designed to regenerate the scalp and enhance hair strength.
According to L’Oréal, Kérastase is expanding its retail footprint at a time when demand for premium haircare is rising, driven by a growing consumer focus on self-care and indulgent at-home rituals in the post-pandemic era.
Further enhancing the retail experience, the boutique also features the brand’s first exclusive gifting service, offering personalised embroidery and bespoke gift-wrapping.
