Cannes Acquisitions
Janus Films has landed the U.S. rights to acclaimed “Long Day’s Journey Into Night” Chinese director Bi Gan’s new film “Resurrection” following its debut at Cannes. Jackson Yee and Shu Qi star in the six-segment film which spans a century and unfolds in a world where dreaming has vanished.

Netflix has won the rights to Richard Linklater’s Cannes premiering film “Nouvelle Vague” following its debut to rave reviews. The film is a homage to Jean-Luc Godard’s “Breathless” and deals with how the French New Wave masterpiece came to be. Guillaume Marbeck, Zoey Deutch, Adrien Rouyard and Aubry Dullin co-star. Marvel
Ahead of the theatrical release of their next A24 horror movie “Bring Her Back”, Rising Australian filmmakers Danny and Michael Philippou (“Talk to Me”) have confirmed that they recently met with Marvel Studios but couldn’t give awayany further details. The brothers are also currently developing a sequel to “Talk to Me”. [Source: The Project]

Send Help
Sam Raimi’s return to comedy/horror with “Send Help” is reportedly getting a musical score from Danny Elfman. The project, dubbed “Misery” meets “Cast Away,” stars Dylan O’Brien, Rachel McAdams and Dennis Haysbert.

The story deals with a woman and her insufferable younger male boss who are stranded on a remote island after a plane crash. With survival at stake, she becomes his only hope of making it out alive. The film opens January 30th next year. [Source: WoR]

Final Destination: Bloodlines
One recent screening of “Final Destination: Bloodlines” in a cinema in Buenos Aires got a little too interactive it would seem as a section of the theatre ceiling came crashing down during a screening.

A woman who was there with her 11-year-old-daughter and a friend was hit by debris. She sustained bruises and planned to file a complaint against the theatre for what was her first cinema visit in years. [Source: The Independent]

Gen V
Amazon Prime Video has released the first official poster for the second season of its “The Boys” spin-off “Gen V”. The poster comes ahead of the show’s stars appearing at CCXP Mexico 2025 this coming Saturday where it’s likely the new season’s release date and teaser trailer will be revealed.
