SAFE MIND (BOY HARSHER/LUCY) – DATES W/ NATION OF LANGUAGE AND MORE
Safe Mind, the duo of Boy Harsherʼs Augustus Muller and LUCY (aka Cooper B. Handy), will release their debut album Cutting The Stone on July 25, and they’ll be touring as well. Things kick off with a release show at Brooklyn’s Music Hall of Williamsburg on 7/25 and dates include opening slots for Nation of Language.

QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE ALIVE IN THE CATACOMBS SCREENINGS
Queens of the Stone Age have a new concert film, Alive in the Catacombs, which was shot in the legendary catacombs of Paris. “If you’re ever going to be haunted, surrounded by several million dead people is the place,” says Josh Homme. “I’ve never felt so welcome in my life.” There are screenings around the world on June 3-6. THURSDAY
Thursday are opening for My Chemical Romance and Death Cab for Cutie at East Rutherford, NJ’s Metlife Stadium on August 9, and to warm up for that, they’re playing shows in Allentown, Baltimore, and Albany with I Am the Avalanche and Blood Vulture.
TURNSTILE
Turnstile release their anticipated new album Never Enough next week and are also cover stars for the new issue of Pitchfork’s quarterly zine. The band will be discussing the album at the zine’s launch party at Manhattan’s AG Studios on June 4.
BOUNCING SOULS / H2O
Having gone on the first “East Coast Fuck You Tour” together in the late ’90s, The Bouncing Souls and H2O are wrapping up a new edition of that tour now, and they’ve announced a second and third leg, happening this fall.
DEVENDRA BANHART / KATH BLOOM
Devendra Banhart will be on a short Northeast tour this September with folk legend Kath Bloom. “I will be playing songs from my catalog in chronological order,” Devendra says. “And remember… there will be no yelling!”
BEN NICHOLS (LUCERO)
Lucero’s Ben Nichols will release his first solo album in 16 years in July and will also be on tour.
TOPS
Montreal’s TOPS have announced a new album, Bury the Key, which will be out August 22, as well as a fall North American tour.
MARIA SOMERVILLE
Maria Somerville will support her new album Luster with a fall tour that includes dates with Chanel Beads, and co-headlining shows with James K, and festival appearances.
MODERN NATURE
UK/US group Modern Nature have announced their first US tour in five years in support of their new album.
BOLIS PUPUL
Producer and Charlotte Adigéry collaborator Bolis Pupul will be on a quick US/Canada tour in September, with stops in LA, Seattle, San Francisco (Portola Fest), Miami, Montreal (Pop Montreal), Toronto, and Brooklyn (Public Records on 9/27).
BEN OTTEWELL (GOMEZ)
Gomez frontman Ben Ottewell will be on a solo tour in September, hitting DC, NYC (Le Poisson Rouge on 9/24), Evanston, Denver, San Francisco, and Los Angeles.
WHITNEY / FOLK BITCH TRIO
Chicago band Whitney will be on tour this summer and headlining dates are with Folk Bitch Trio.
