Irish band Cardinals share new single “Big Empty Heart,” announce North American tour dates

Irish band Cardinals are back with their first new music of 2025, a swaggering number that mixes post-punk atmospherics with traditional Celtic music. “‘Big Empty Heart’ is a love song written from beyond the grave,” says frontman Euan Manning. “It is a waltz as waltzes are the most romantic kinds of songs. Oskar wrote the main melody on a Korg synthesiser when he was 12 and the song is built around that.” Watch the video below.

Cardinals will also be back in the North America this September for a few shows, starting in Boston where they’ll open for The Pogues on 9/7. From there they’ll play Toronto, Chicago, San Francisco, and Los Angeles. What, no NYC? Hopefully they’ll add more dates. Check out their schedule below.
