Marriott Bonvoy tends to run targeted bonus offers every few months, which it adopted after folding SPG into the combined program.

The global promotion ended on April 28, and we don’t likely see another one before early fall. Marriott, however, continues to roll out targeted bonus offers that are valid for the month of signing up + the following three.

Note that there are often targeted offers for bonus points and sometimes free night certificates, so it does pay to check your Promotion Center occasionally.

A reader reported that they had received an offer for up to 9,000 bonus points for three stays during the promo period.

Conclusion

It appears that Marriott now launches these offers at the end of each month or at the beginning of the month, and there is no rhyme or reason about who gets targeted and who doesn’t.

If you stay frequently, there is no need to offer your bonuses; if you don’t, your account is considered semi-inactive.
