“Wednesday” Season 2 First Six Minutes

As Netflix has already had a teaser trailer and featurette out for the second season of “Wednesday” in the past month, it wasn’t clear what the show would offer at the streamer’s Tudum event tonight.

The show went all out it seems. Along with a live Lady Gaga performance, the first six minutes from the highly anticipated second season of the dark comedy/horror series were released.

The clip shows much of what was seen in the teaser with Wednesday being kidnapped by a serial killer (though she has the upper hand) along with dealing with airport security.

Jenna Ortega returns as Wednesday Addams and is joined by four returnees who’ve been upgraded to regulars for the new season – Luis Guzmán and Catherine Zeta-Jones as her parents Gomez and Morticia, Isaac Ordonez as Pugsley and Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo as Ritchie Santiago. Also back are various classmates from Emma Myers to Hunter Doohan.

Also joining the cast for the new run are Steve Buscemi, Billie Piper, Noah Taylor, Evie Templeton, Joanna Lumley, Thandwie Newton, Frances O’Connor, Haley Joel Osment, Heather Matarazzo, Christopher Lloyd and Lady Gaga as legendary Nevermore teacher Rosaline Rotwood.

The eight-episode new season will be darker, more daring and have more of a horror tone than the first. Alfred Gough and Miles Millar (“Smallville”) are the writers and showrunners, with Tim Burton executive producing and directing several episodes.

“Wednesday” returns with Part 1 on August 6th and Part 2 on September 3rd. The first season remains Netflix’s most-watched English-language series along with scoring four Emmy wins from twelve nominations.
