Coronet Introduces STFU Contours Collection of Shapely Acoustic Luminaires
Coronet introduces STFU Contours, a collection of architectural lighting fixtures that combine curvy shapes and acoustic performance.

With an ever-expanding range of solo sound-reducing products on the market, architectural lighting manufacturer Coronet introduces STFU Contours, a collection of fixtures that combines optimal lighting with acoustic performance. The new line is an extension of the company’s original STFU Acoustic series launched seven years ago, now with curved forms that bring a sense of movement to commercial interiors.
While round options are perennial favorites, introducing even more shapes was an easy progression for Coronet’s design team. “It’s a natural evolution. Our shaped lighting products are also acoustic solutions. We are continuing to bring these two threads together to maximize function,” says Brian Thomas, vice president of marketing and sustainability at Coronet.
The collection includes seven new curvaceous lights that complement any design. To achieve the signature curves, a series of shallow, closely spaced grooves iare precision-cut into PET felt, allowing them to bend smoothly around the fixtures.
LS1 Curve STFU and LS2 Curve STFU are custom curved linear fixtures with 1.9-inch and 2.5-inch apertures, respectively. Ring STFU is a round, halo-style luminaire, while the Loop STFU is an internally lit open ring that provides both uplight and downlight. PRD STFU has an illuminated disc with a concave lens.
Lucie Curve STFU is a backlit pendant with projection fabric, ideal for installation over a large surface area. The NL Round STFU is a non-illuminated, circular acoustic pendant. Utilizing LED technology, each luminaire offers up to 135 lumens per watt and a color rendering index above 90.
The PET felt, made from 90% post-consumer recycled content, has a noise reduction coefficient rating of 0.75. The material is available in 20 standard shades, from neutrals like Marbled Grey to the ultra-vibrant Pink Panther. Custom colors are also available for larger projects and branding applications. With health of the people and planet in mind, several models have Declare labels, and are available with Red List Free Construction.
Grouped together, elements snake and loop overhead to create dynamic ceiling scapes that have visual appeal. Designers can also specify the height of the acoustic baffles to suit their needs, perfect for open workspaces or hospitality settings where noise is a concern. “The best technology, materials, and design are all in one product, which streamlines the flexibility that’s so important,” Thomas notes.
