LEGO Ideas has revealed that LEGO sets inspired by both “The X-Files” and “Wallace and Gromit” franchises are in the works.

The LEGO Group’s LEGO Ideas set two 1990s IP challenges titled ‘The Next Chapter’ and ‘The Opening Act’. Each of these contests tasked builders to create a potential set based on a property from that decade.

‘The Opening Act’, seeking builds between 1,000 and 5,000 pieces – was won by Brent Waller’s 2020-piece set “The X-Files: The Truth Is Out There”. The creation comes in two parts – a recreation of Mulder’s basement office below a forest where an alien is beaming down from a UFO.

The set contains a bunch of homages to the show, including not just Agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully but characters like Assistant Director Walter Skinner, the Cigarette Smoking Man and the liver-earing Eugene Tooms. There’s also a grey alien and a Jersey Devil.

‘The Next Chapter’, which was for builds between 200-1000 pieces, was won by Pidelium’s Wallace & Gromit model which sees the famed characters atop their iconic motorcycle and sidecar.

It’s expected these sets won’t hit stores until late 2026/2027. Other sets expected before then include ones for “Godzilla,” “The Goonies,” “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” and “Tintin”.
